What is Ozashiki?

An ozashiki refers to a traditional, formal gathering or banquet held in a tatami room, often associated with Japanese culture. When it involves a geisha, it becomes a special kind of event known as a geisha ozashiki.

During a geisha ozashiki, guests are entertained by geisha (and sometimes maiko, who are apprentice geisha) through various forms of art, including traditional music, dance, and games. For this ozashiki, you will be invited to a Japanese Ryotei in the infamous neighborhood of Kagurazaka. Kagurazaka is a historic and culturally rich neighborhood in Tokyo, known for its blend of traditional Japanese atmosphere and modern urban culture.Kagurazaka continues to be associated with traditional Japanese arts, including shamisen music, classical dance, and tea ceremonies. Some traditional establishments in the area still offer these experiences.

An affordable formula without a meal

Usually, geisha Ozashiki happens together with a meal in a famous ryotei (Japanese retaurant) which can be very expesnive. But in order to give everybody a chance to meet Geishas, this formula, although the setting is a ryotei, only includes the games.

Here are the rules of etiquette and entertainment practices to adopt with a geisha.

1. Do not touch the geisha's kimono or hair ornaments.

2. Charges for the geisha will apply based on the reservation time. Even if you are late, charges will apply from the reserved time, so please arrive punctually.

Some geisha are fluent not only in Japanese but also in English and French. 

Cancelation policy:

• 10 or more days prior to the experience: No charge
• 3 to 9 days prior to the experience: 50% cancellation charge of the total cost
• 2 days prior and on the day to the experience: 100% cancellation charge of the total cost
• No show or after the commencement of the experience: 100% of the total cost
