We recommend using the JR Nippo Main Line. This line is operated by JR Kyushu. Travelers can choose between Limited Express trains (such as the Nichirin or Kirishima) for a faster journey, or local trains which make more stops. The departure point is Nobeoka Station and the arrival point is Miyazaki Station.

Generally, the last Limited Express train departs Nobeoka for Miyazaki between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Local trains may run slightly later.

The cost of a train ticket between Nobeoka and Miyazaki consists of the base fare and, for Limited Express trains, a surcharge for the rapid service (Limited Express fee). For a Limited Express journey, the total price usually ranges between 2,500 and 3,500 yen. A ticket for a local train, without a surcharge, costs approximately 1,800 to 2,000 yen. We advise checking specific fares on the JR Kyushu website, as they can vary depending on the seat type and service class.

The duration of the train journey depends on the type of service chosen. With a Limited Express train, the trip generally takes between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. Local trains, due to their more frequent stops, take longer, typically around 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours. It is important to note the high punctuality of Japanese trains, which allows for reliable itinerary planning.
